Dive deep into the ancient Indian practice of yoga.

 

Explore yoga as a lifestyle and the ways in which it extends far beyond the asana (physical practice).

 

Become confident to lead a yoga class, or simply use this as an opportunity to transform your own practice.

 

Find the courage to learn about yourself and be a student of life as you go with the flow so that we may move forward from a place of truth.  

 

We will study different styles of yoga, the history of yoga, yogic philosophy, anatomy of yoga and biomechanics, and intelligent class sequencing.

 

Right from the start we will step into the role of teacher as we practice teach, group sequence, learn how to create effective class themes, discuss the importance of verbal cueing before hands-on adjustments, — all in a supportive and encouraging environment.

20hr Restorative Teacher Training

This training:

Restorative is a branch of yoga, a bridge between an asana practice and Meditation.​ Restorative yoga paired with breathing techniques and mindfulness are designed to create a profound healing experience to help reduce stress by responding to our innate ability to find balance and homeostasis.
 

What you will learn:​

  • The self healing model of the Koshas, why and how to use support to amplify balance and rest

  • The physiological effects (sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system) and the fundamentals of empowering self awareness of imbalances in the body

  • How to read bodies and tension patterns

  • The power of adjustments, both non-contact and contact.

  • How to sequence for a particular effect

  • 21 key restorative postures: why and how to add support (props), the ability to give variations, cues to release tensions and common contraindications
