The Attic Yoga 200 HR - Vinyasa Focus
Yoga Teacher Training 2021
Join Megan Goodchild and dive deep into the ancient Indian practice of yoga. Explore yoga as a lifestyle and the ways in which it extends far beyond the asana (physical practice). Become confident to lead a yoga class, or simply use this as an opportunity to transform your own practice. Find the courage to learn about yourself and be a student of life as you go with the flow so that we may move forward from a place of truth.
We will study various different styles of yoga as well as the history of yoga, yogic philosophy, anatomy of yoga and biomechanics, with an emphasis on intelligent class sequencing. Right from the start we will step into the role of teacher as we practice teach, group sequence, learn how to create effective class themes, discuss the importance of verbal cueing before hands-on adjustments, and we will do it all in a supportive and encouraging environment.
Megan is an ERYT-500 Yoga Alliance certified instructor with years of full-time teaching experience and over 1000 hours of yoga training in many different styles, teamed up with Iysha Nobes, owner of Yoga Wellness Anatomy who will be leading the anatomy training. Iysha is an ERYT-500 instructor with well over 1000 hours of training in yoga, as well as massage and acupuncture to name a few. We are incredibly lucky to learn from this passionate soul who will likely spark an anatomy fire in you as well. We are very lucky to have Lo Koehler, ERYT-500 joining the faculty this year sharing her extensive knowledge on mindfulness, meditation and restorative yoga with us.
Our YTT is registered with the Yoga Alliance, the largest professional association for teachers and schools.
Upon completion you will be qualified to register as a RYT (registered yoga teacher) with YA.
YTT REGISTRATION GIVES YOU ACCESS TO UNLIMITED VIRTUAL / ON DEMAND YOGA FOR THE DURATION OF TRAINING!
This year's weekend trainings will take place at the beautiful new Sunday Studio in downtown Kitchener. There is lots of parking, and a big, bright, open studio space to comfortably distance our yoga mats.
If you choose to upgrade the last three training weekends with an intensive, week-long training retreat, the final week will take place in Guanacaste, Costa Rica at El Sabanero Eco Lodge (pictured above). All accommodations and vegetarian meals are included for the retreat portion. The staff are amazing, and the yoga shala overlooks the Caña Fistula Valley 15 minutes from Tamarindo. Rainy season will have JUST come to a close, so the valley will be green and lush and full of gorgeous flowers (and monkeys!)
